What happens to the copies already installed?

Spur says these SDKs can keep running after the app is closed and only stop when the user deletes the app or opts out. LG says developers must remove them or have their apps suspended, but the article doesn’t say whether that disables existing installs. If it doesn’t, LG needs to tell affected users which apps to remove.

yes... I think for startups there's a strong desire to demonstrate technical independence - there's a strong smell with looking like a wrapper on Anthropic or OpenAI. With an open model you can weave a story where you are exercising differentiating knowhow by deploying or tuning models yourself.

I was thinking the same. A lot of people use AI to refine their writing and make it more concise.

I do think the dead giveaways (em dashes, it's not X it's Y, etc.) are annoying to come across repeatedly. A person not bothering to remove these tells feels 'low effort' to me.

One of the things they neglected to discuss was how much longer it takes given the synthesis step. I guess for a deep research benchmark, it doesn't matter much, but will be interesting to see how it applies to coding tasks.

I'm afraid I'd have to agree. That is, unless you have 512GB+ RAM sitting on a shelf and run the much larger SOTA-comparable local models.
